Late Model Racing Western Australia
AN EXCITED PRESIDENT!
Today marks one week before the Pro Dirt Series embarks on its biggest road trip of the season, with the Kalgoorlie/Esperance double header!
Nominations have been rolling in, and one man who is pretty excited about what lays ahead is Tyres & More Esperance Speedway Club President, Sean Barrett, representing the Beaumont Motorsports team.
Joining the Late Model ranks a couple of years ago after racing in plenty of other divisions previously, Sean is passionate about growing Late Models in the area.
“We have over ten cars who are local this season for our Club Championship Series so that is exciting” he says. “There’s a few in Kalgoorlie too, so our local shows are certainly growing, and we get a huge shot in the arm when the Pro Dirt rounds come to us!”
Sean has already nominated for Esperance and if work permits, he will also be at Kalgoorlie International Speedway, both venues he has previously had success at, though Esperance is certainly the highlight, scoring three feature wins there last season.
In the off season Sean was busy at the track and preparing his own machinery for a big year.
“We worked hard on our general maintenance on the car in the off season, while the track stuff certainly kept as busy as this year Esperance’s celebrates its 50th anniversary!”
Once this weekend is run and won, Sean is also hoping to make his way up to the big smoke with a focus on contesting the National Title and other Perth Motorplex shows in March.
Next weekend is going to be a big one for Kalgoorlie, Esperance and the Late Model Pro Dirt Series, so make your arrangements early so you don’t miss a minute!
