Late Model Racing Western Australia
TURNING HEADS
Just like his brother, Matt Nylander has been around Late Models for a long time now, but this season the focus is difference as he looks to turn some heads!
Nylander will be a late starter for season 2024/25, but when he does hit the track, he is certain to gain some interest!
“This season I will be coming in hot with a new car and fresh engine package ready to rattle some cages” smiles Matt. “The aim this season is to silence some critics and get some serious runs on the board.”
The 2003/04 Rookie of the Year has got some runs over the years: two Pro Dirt podiums in his early years (November 2004 at Motorplex and
February 2005 at Narrogin), plus multiple other Late Model podium finishes right up until a second in October 2022 at the Motorplex and of course at the Red Dirt Rumble, but the feature wins have been elusive, something he is keen to change this time around.
“I will have the equipment and the support of a great team headed by my uncle Rob Whittington, so it’ll be a great season ahead” exclaims Matt.
In the off season Matt has also been busy building his business and starting another couple more, so Late Model racing will certainly be a welcome respite for him and we can’t wait to have him back on track for Nylander Motorsport in the coming weeks!
