Late Model Racing Western Australia
THE BIGGEST WA TITLE FIELD EVER!
After weeks of build up, the LMRWA is pleased to reveal the nominations list for this weekend’s WA Title, which officially, is the biggest ever!
The previous record of twenty-nine nominations has been smashed, with a huge thirty-six drivers signaling their intentions to search for the champagne, the glory and the gold at the Perth Motorplex this Saturday night.
As has been alluded to previously, there are no less than six drivers who have previously won the WA Title in the field: ten-time Champion Brad Blake, two-time Champions Craig Vosbergen (Team Vosbergen Racing - TVR), Warren Oldfield (Oldfield Racing), Jamie Oldfield (Oldfield Racing), and Brent Vosbergen (Team Vosbergen Racing - TVR), and 2015/16 champion Kodee Brown (McCorry Brown Racing Team).
Another six drivers have finished on the podium previously without winning the event (Jay Cardy (Cardy Racing Components) – two seconds and a third, Jason Oldfield (Oldfield Racing) – a second and a third, Matt Goodlad (Daytona Racing) – a second and a third, Michael Holmes (Michael Holmes Racing) – a third, Joe Chalmers (Team BCM Motorsport:) – a third, and Veronica McCann (Veronica McCann - Red Hot Racing) – a third) and all would love to make their way up onto the top step of the podium come feature time on Saturday.
We have a huge interstate onslaught, including Tasmanian Brad Smith (Brad Smith Devil Motorsports 6T), who is actually the current Tasmanian Champion and won’t be defending that title this weekend because he is here in WA, former Queensland #3 Bruce Mackenzie all the way from New South Wales and fellow New South Welshman Lachlan Onley who already has South Australian, New South Wales and Victorian Late Model Titles to his name and would love to add WA to that collection.
Also making the trek over is Jacob Croker (@crokerfamilymotorsport) from New South Wales, who has previously finished third in a Tasmanian Title, while Victorian Brendan Hucker (Hucker Racing) is already here and after some time in WA already, will be hoping his experience will let him add another Title podium to his resume after already grabbing two thirds in the Victorian Title and another in the South Aussie event previously!
Incredibly, in the field we have assembled this weekend, we have no less than thirty-three State championships between them, and one of the competitors in the field will notch up the thirty fourth!
Australian Champion Joe Chalmers will be hopeful of notching up his first State crown, while other Pro Dirt regulars including Rod Musarra (Team Rocket), David Nylander (Nylander Motorsport), Luke Halliday (Halliday Racing) and Freddy Kinsella (Team Green Racing) will be hoping to turn their pace into results come main event time on Saturday.
The field is rounded out by plenty of new and returning faces: Beau and Bradley taking the Oldfield clan numbers to five, Abbey Pickering (@Allaboutracing) and Ryan Huxtable back on board, Esperance and Kalgoorlie locals including Mat Robbins, Greg Horan, Shaun Cubbage, Damian Hudson and David Boyes all making the journey and veteran racers including Peter Seaton and Jac Dolmans Jnr all nominating for their shot.
This huge title kicks off at the Perth Motorplex on Saturday afternoon, so with such a big field, you will absolutely not want to miss a single minute of this quality motortainment!
