Bunbury Speedway Returns in 2026 With Packed Summer Schedule Despite Shortened Season

After a season-long break to allow for much-needed upgrades and redevelopment, Bunbury Speedway is set to return to action for a condensed but high-impact 2026 season. While the season starts later than usual and spans just five race meetings, the Bunbury Car Club has confirmed that the delay is a vital part of ensuring the venue’s long-term sustainability and growth.

Under the guidance of General Manager Brad Blake and his promotional team, the later start to the season—beginning in January 2026—allows crews to finish key infrastructure works and lay the groundwork for even more improvements heading into the 2026/2027 calendar.

Work has already begun at the venue with works currently being done to help increase spectator enjoyment and safety, there is still plenty planned as to do as the warmer months come closer.

January 3 will set the lone trip for the Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series with WA Sprintcar Speedweek, combined with Limited Sprintcar Association of WA Davis Family Derby, the opening night is sure to excite racing retuning in Bunbury.

We will return in just two weeks on January 17, headlined by the 360 Sprintcar State Title, the prestigious Allan Blake Late Model Classic and Speedcars.

February 7 will celebrate variety, showcasing up-and-coming talent in the Junior Sedans Gold Cup which also doubles as a round of the JSRA Series, while mixed-bag of open-wheel action on February 21 will not only be the second showing of 360 Sprintcars, but appearances from the ultra-competitive Wingless Sprints, Formula 500’s and Street Stocks

The season wraps up on March 28 with a bang as Production Sedans and Street Stocks go head-to-head for major silverware in the Gold Cup and Summer Cup, while Junior Sedans round out their strong season of development.

While the Promotional Team’s main work will be to work to upscale the January 3, 17 and February 21 events, they will help guide the new Bunbury Car Club Committee with hosting February 7 and March 28 which are looking for more divisions to attend those two meetings.
