Oldfield Kicks off Season with #4!

Jamie Oldfield (Oldfield Racing) got his 2025/26 season off to the best possible start tonight at the Ellenbrook Speedway, winning both of his heat races en route to claiming the victory in the feature race which doubled as the opening round of the Pro Dirt Series and the Ray Tulk Memorial.

The win would be Jamie’s fourth in the tribute event and kept the trend of just six drivers who have won the show in its history.

All twenty-three cars who started the night would hit the track for the feature event, with Jamie Oldfield holding pole position after two strong heat wins while Joe Chalmers (Team BCM Motorsport:) would accompany him on the front row.

The first attempt at a start in the thirty-lap main event was called back quickly as Bruce Mackenzie spun to a stop on the main straight

Jamie Oldfjeld was straight to the lead as the race officially got underway, Chalmers and Warren Oldfield (Oldfield Racing) in behind. The race would last just two laps as Abbey Pickering (All About Racing) came to a stop against the main straight wall and was towed infield, while Rob Wells (CTM Recruitment Racing) would then also join her under the yellow lights.

Jamie shot away again upon the resumption with Warren able to get by Chalmers to take second, Brad Blake holding off a whole pack of cars in fourth.

Unfortunately only one more lap would be completed when the yellows came on again for a multi car pile up in turn two. Somehow all were able to restart, twenty one cars still on track.

The top three remained status quo but Ken Macpherson (KMM - Ken Macpherson Motorsport) was able to get by Blake for fourth, however the move was negated as a pile of cars came together, this time in turn four. Rod Musarra (Team Rocket) and David Boyes (@Boyes Motorsport) were the main victims, both towed infield and unable to rejoin.

Again Jamie would race away with Warren and Chalmers in pursuit, and while it took him a lap longer this time, Macpherson was also able to get by Blake for fourth and simply went on a charge from here.

A lap later he also got by Chalmers for third, and then a further lap later by Warren for second. With eight complete Macpherson was ranging up on the outside of Jamie, and a lap later he was also able to get by Jamie to take over the lead, where he simply began to pull away.

Warren and Chalmers continued their battle for third, Joe able to get by on lap eleven, while Jamie fought back up front and used traffic to his advantage to get back by Macpherson for the lead on lap twelve.

Jamie and Macpherson had pulled about a quarter of a lap clear of Chalmers and Warren at the half race distance, while a few laps later Warren headed infield with a flat tyre.

Back up front Jamie was now a second clear of Macpherson with eight laps to go, but it was negated once again when the yellows came on, this time for Greg Horan who was parked backwards up against the turn one wall.

Chalmers was able to get by Macpherson for second on the restart with Jason Oldfield and Brent Vosbergen (Team Vosbergen Racing - TVR) now rounding out the top five.

As the laps wound down, Jamie was able to race away from the rest, going on to record the win, his fourth in the Ray Tulk Memorial and defeating Joe Chalmers and Ken Macpherson in yet another great season opener.
Teams now have just under a week to be ready for Round two at the Perth Motorplex on the 18th of October.
