Late Model Racing Western Australia

Putting on a show in Albany!

This weekend will see all the stars and cars of the Pro Dirt Series heading down the highway to the Albany Speedway Club thanks to Albany World of Cars to contest the ninth round of the series!

The nominations list is a who's who of Late Model racing names in WA, with all the major players in the series championship signalling their intentions to head South and claim the prize money, the points and the win!

This weekend will mark the fifteenth time that Albany Speedway has held a Pro Dirt Series round, with Kye Blight claiming last years round (and a pile of the other Albany wins!), while the previous year it was Warren Oldfield (Oldfield Racing) and Brent Vosbergen each sharing one of the night wins.

Only Oldfield is in the field of these aforementioned three and he would love to claim another victory as he fights to claw his way back up the points standings.

Interestingly, looking back through those previous fourteen rounds held at Albany, the only other former Albany winner in the field is points leader Jamie Oldfield, who claimed the Pro Dirt round at the venue back in 2010! He too is keen to grab another one and go back to back.

One man hoping to stop that from happening will be Australian Champion Joe Chalmers (Team BCM Motorsport:) who is looking to close the gap after sitting in second overall. Chalmers has always performed strong lot at Albany, so this weekend could be his time to step back up onto the top step!

Luke Halliday (Halliday Racing) has been the model of consistency so far in 2024/25 but would love to break through for a win while others including Jay Cardy (Cardy Racing Components), David Nylander (Nylander Motorsport) and Michael Holmes (Michael Holmes Racing) always perform strongly down south and will be hoping to continue that form.

Add in names like Kodee Brown (McCorry Brown Racing Team), Rod Musarra (Team Rocket) and Brad Smith (Brad Smith Devil Motorsports 6T) and this show at Albany will be epic!

The 2024/25 Pro Dirt Series is proudly supported by Maddington Toyota & CanningVale Toyota, ABN Trade Mates, McPhee Freight, Scardifields Smash Repairs, Heatleys Safety, Industrial & Automotive, Ross's Auctioneers & Valuers, SupaFit Seat Covers, My Race Pass, Wilson Brewing Company, The Event Mill and Dirt Track Nutters.
