Round Two to be Huge!
The 2025/26 Late Model Pro Dirt Series kicked off with a bang last weekend at the Ellenbrook Speedway and in exciting news for all involved, we don't have to wait long to do it all over again!
Round Two will be held this Saturday night as part of the Perth Motorplex season opening show, Powerpalooza X, and with another great field nominated, the action should pick up right where it left off last weekend!
Heading the field will of course be last start winner and Pro Dirt Series defending champion Jamie Oldfield (Oldfield Racing) who dominated the Ellenbrook show and claimed his thirty second career Pro Dirt victory, bringing him within one of tying brother Warren for second on the all-time winners list.
Warren was running strongly until a flat tyre bought it to a premature halt so he will be keen to make up for a lost opportunity this weekend, while gun drivers Joe Chalmers (Team BCM Motorsport:) and Ken Macpherson (KMM - Ken Macpherson Motorsport) rounded out the opening night podium behind Jamie and would love to go one and two spots better respectively.
Jason Oldfield and Brent Vosbergen (Team Vosbergen Racing - TVR) rounded out the top five at Ellenbrook, both having a consistent run and moving forward in the main event. With Jason not in the field for this show it makes the task slightly easier for the rest of the field, and Vosbergen certainly knows what it takes to win Pro Dirt Series feature races at the Motorplex and can be considered a real threat this weekend.
David Nylander (Nylander Motorsport) was on the podium in the final show of last season at the Perth Motorplex, his first ever in the Pro Dirt Series, and after a sixth place finish in the season opener, he can be confident of improving on that. Late Model GOAT Brad Blake was seventh at Ellenbrook after earlier claiming a heat win and would love to continue showing the youngsters he's still got it, while Luke Halliday (Halliday Racing) was eighth and unbelievably has still not broken through for a PDS podium, which could well change come feature time on Saturday.
Jay Cardy (Cardy Racing Components) and Beau Oldfield rounded out the top ten finishers at Ellenbrook, moving forward five and six positions respectively so if they can continue that run could well be contenders this weekend.
Add in all the Pro Dirt Series regulars, including Rod Musarra (Team Rocket), Abbey Pickering (All About Racing) and David Boyes (Boyes Motorsport) who have had to burn the midnight oil to be ready for this weekend after incidents at Ellenbrook, not to mention the season debut of Ryan Huxtable (Huxy Racing) and the series debut of Matt Sangston, and this weekend is sure to be another epic way to set the scene for season 2025/26!
