Oldfield On Top!

Warren Oldfield (Oldfield Racing) has tonight climbed his way back to the top of the tree, winning the Powerpalooza X event at the Perth Motorplex, which doubled as the second round of the Pro Dirt Series proudly presented by CanningVale Toyota & Maddington Toyota.

With four heat races won and run (victors being Luke Halliday (Halliday Racing), Ken Macpherson (KMM - Ken Macpherson Motorsport), Rod Musarra (Team Rocket) and Warren Oldfield), Oldfield would claim pole position and start alongside ‘The 0 Show’ Brad Blake, who claimed a second and a third in his heats.

Warren Oldfield would lead the field away, brother Jamie Oldfield (Oldfield Racing) following him through on the low line after starting in position three. Blake, would then have a moment coming down the backstraight on the opening lap, cars going every which way to avoid him, Blake spinning infield and for the second time in two weeks, Rod Musarra being the innocent victim, left with a flat tyre and the right side of his car missing, while Ken Macpherson was also forced infield.

The field formed up for a complete restart with David Nylander (Nylander Motorsport) now on the outside of Warren on the front row after the demise of Blake and Musarra.

Warren would lead away once again, Jamie again following him through on the inside for second while Nylander would slot into third.

Shortly after, Brent Vosbergen (Team Vosbergen Racing - TVR) and then Luke Halliday would both get by Nylander putting him back to fifth.

Up front Warren was running in clear air, Jamie about half a corner behind him and Vosbergen the same gap back in third.

Joe Chalmers (Team BCM Motorsport:) would make his way into the top five on lap seven, with the yellows coming on shortly after for Jay Cardy (Cardy Racing Components) who found himself facing the wrong way.

Warren again held strong out front on the restart but Vosbergen was able to get by Jamie for third, with Chalmers also able to advance to fourth place and looking for a way past Jamie.

Jamie fought back and got back by both of them to take second with ten complete, Chalmers also able to get by Vosbergen for third.

Up front Warren was around two seconds ahead, Jamie having a moment and drifting wide in turn one that again allowed Chalmers to dive underneath, though Jamie was able to regain his composure and hold second.

With twenty laps complete Warren was out to a commanding five second lead on Jamie, who was constantly having to fight off the advances of Chalmers, while Vosbergen was now dropping off the battle.

As the laps wound down Jamie was also able to race clear of Joe, and even began to close the gap on Warren slightly, but it mattered little as Warren went on to record his thirty-fourth career Pro Dirt Series feature race win, defeating Jamie Oldfield and Joe Chalmers.

Teams now have a short break before returning to action for Round Three at the Perth Motorplex on November 1 as part of the Westernapolis event, proudly presented by ABN Trade Mates.

The 2025/26 Pro Dirt Series is proudly supported by Maddington Toyota & CanningVale Toyota, ABN Trade Mates, McPhee Freight, Scardifield Smash Repairs, CTM Recruitment Pty Ltd, Heatleys Safety, Industrial & Automotive, Ross's Auctioneers & Valuers, SupaFit Seat Covers, Westlec Auto Electrics, My Race Pass, Wilson Brewing Company, The Event Mill and Dirt Track Nutters.
